CFU Shares Gratitude on Thanksgiving

Dear Ally,

Campaign for Uyghurs (CFU) shares sincere gratitude with everyone who stood with the Uyghur people this year. Your support strengthened our work, your messages encouraged our team, and your solidarity reminded the Uyghur community that they are not forgotten.

This year saw significant recognition for CFU and our leadership. Rushan Abbas published her memoir, Unbroken: One Uyghur’s Fight for Freedom. Bi-partisan U.S. lawmakers nominated Campaign for Uyghurs for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, and CFU and Rushan Abbas were honored with the NED 2025 Democracy Award, acknowledgments that underscore the global significance of our work. None of these moments would be possible without the people who believe in our mission and stand with our community.

“As many families gather in the United States for this holiday, I hold my dear sister unjustly imprisoned back home in my thoughts and carry the same longing felt across the Uyghur community,” said Rushan Abbas, Founder and Executive Director of CFU. “This season brings both gratitude and sorrow. Gratitude for the people like yourselves, who stand with us, and sorrow for the families who remain separated. Your support brings comfort to those facing empty seats at their tables. Thank you for keeping their stories close to your hearts.”

Today, we pause to recognize the people who give this movement heart and direction. Thank you for speaking up, showing care, and giving strength to those who face hardship every day. We will share more updates on our work soon.

Your support makes our work possible. Help us continue advocating for justice and amplifying Uyghur voices by making a donation today.
