CFU Highlights 74 Years of Oppression in East Turkistan

Ahead of China’s National Day, Campaign for Uyghurs (CFU) reiterates its condemnation of China’s occupation of East Turkistan and the ongoing genocidal policies implemented by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). CFU urges concerned individuals around the world to unite and peacefully protest in front of Chinese embassies and consulates, demanding an end to the atrocities committed against the Uyghur people.

Under China’s oppressive rule, the Uyghur people have faced unimaginable human rights abuses, including targeted discrimination, arbitrary detentions, forced labor, cultural assimilation, intrusive surveillance, forced population control measures, separation of children from families, enforced disappearances and even psychological, physical and sexual torture. This relentless campaign against Uyghurs not only violates basic human rights principles but also poses a significant threat to the rich cultural heritage of the Uyghur people. This genocide and crimes against humanity must be exposed, and it is our moral duty to take action and bring an end to this injustice.

Executive Director Rushan Abbas, reaffirms the importance of global solidarity, saying, “China’s National Day is not a day of celebration for the Uyghur people. It is a painful reminder of the 74 years of suffering we have endured due to China’s occupation of East Turkistan. By protesting peacefully in front of Chinese embassies and consulates around the world, we can collectively raise our voices and demand an immediate end to the genocidal policies and abuses against the Uyghur population.”

We invite concerned individuals, human rights organizations, and advocacy groups to join hands with Uyghurs around the world on China’s National Day in a global protest to demand justice for the Uyghur people. Through peaceful demonstrations, we can shine a light on the human rights crisis in East Turkistan and put pressure on the Chinese government to halt its oppressive policies.
